BUCKETS: The Riskful
A downloadable game

Elijah was a part of a scavenging group in the post-apocalyptic world of Olathe, one day, they find themselves looting a home-- it's a fairly wealthy place. Joyous from the occasion, they celebrate-- they also soon find themselves dying one by one when a visitor approaches... an unknown bulky man of a maroon colored fit, and a face covered in a large card with a spade on it.
Elijah, was the only one to survive-- but to escape, he kept on running, and had to jump off a cliff, to find himself on a river... and be rescued by the group of a madman, a madman who owns many gambling dens, his name is Mason.
In his rescue, Elijah tells Mason his plight, what happened to him... and that's when Mason's face turns to a grimace. The one who killed the people he was in a gang with, was "Brazos", a retired hitman who's in contention of being one of if not the strongest people in the world. The place they robbed, it's a good chance that it's Brazos-- and he personally acquired his ire.
He memorizes people's height, face-- replicated through a drawing, skintone, voice-- recorded through a tape recorder, gait, hair color, and also.... has his men memorize it as well. With his people, numbering hundreds... Elijah would need to take drastic measures to hide from him.
So, Mason suggests Elijah to be a hitman. Elijah, being a non-combatant, would prove to be a challenge-- but Elijah has to remove all traces of his past self to continue living. He was offered an outfit, a red cloak, a brown sweater, gardening gloves on his hands, some weights on his boots to change his gait, and a bucket on his head... to cover his face. All parts of his body, and aspects of his individuality... hidden.
All that's left, is his new identity, the silent hitman, Buckets.
(You don't need to have played "LISA: The Painful" to understand the story but it will greatly aid it... this is a fangame after all.)

-Features dynamic difficulty options that change the way you play!
-2 routes, altering gameplay at around 5 hours in!
-Currently up to 9 and a half hours per playthrough.
-Witness the unusual factions formed on the other side of Olathe.
-13 very fine tuned battles, of increasing difficulty.
-5 party members, currently you can only get one of 2 for your 4th party member.
-The usual occasional fucked up and disturbing details in a LISA world.
-This is my gayest work by far– due to the "only men" restriction given lol.
-A crude and dark-ish sense of humor occasionally.
>VERSION 0.1.3
My playtest time is just 9 and a half hours. The game has a gameplay split at 5 hours in, so I also had to playtest the other route-- not a major story split. I playtested the 2nd hardest difficulty, so it's up to there that it's possible.
I don't think the hardest difficulty is possible yet, but if you guys want to try out the hardest difficulty when the public release comes-- it's free to do so.
There's a couple of placeholder assets, like all the music is placeholder-- and it's just my taste in music, you all will hear my fuckass taste in music (I actually had to change the music because the gamejam rules say I'm not allowed to have songs from other games) a lot of NPCs are just placeholder designs but I made sure nothing is jarring and everything looks clean. I only did animations for the party members, not the enemy skills-- so it's just flashes for enemy skills for now lol. I'm really happy with what I cooked up, the fights are super fun. I pride myself on my game design. The build's final boss is one of the meanest things I've cooked up-- I playtested it on the 2nd hardest difficulty, and so it should definitely be possible in the easier difficulties
THE FULL STORY IS NOT SHOWN YET, this is just the first arc. I originally thought that this would just be the first third-- but no. Not quite. Not even close lol.... so if this gets a following, fans will have a lot more story to look forward to.
>(Patches for 0.1.2)
-There were 2 headless NPCs that were originally truly placeholder, and I thought I replaced them with actual sprites-- but now I did.
-I changed some of the songs because in the gamejam, one of the rules is that no music from other games are allowed. The filenames still show the original songs, but I just replaced the actual files and not the names so that the replacement will not cause bugs if ever I forgot to replace 1 event.
-I tweaked the sensitivity of the main menu.
-Fixed an improper jump event, and and some improper tiling.
-Fixed a locked camera bug, after skipping a certain cutscene.
-There was a dev tile I removed.
>(Patches for 0.1.3)
-Very minor, but tweaked some faulty sprite alignment-- and made the dissapearing of a sprite more proper in a cutscene.
